I'm the teacher in the Criterion online virtual writing class. 

我從瑞士來

I came to Taiwan from Switzerland. Switzerland is a very beautiful country.

當然，台灣也很美

I love to travel and I try to spend as much time hiking in the mountains as possible.

我喜歡爬山

I also like to go to the beach. There are no beaches in Switzerland, so I'm really happy that I have a chance to visit all the beautiful beaches in Taiwan.

台灣的海邊真的很漂亮

When I arrived at Taoyuan  International Airport on a hot summer evening in August, I couldn't speak or read or understand a word of Chinese.

現在，三年後，我可以用中文溝通。

我的生活跟三年前比起來很不一樣！

Now that I can read Chinese, I like walking around the streets of Taipei by myself.

我已經可以看懂路上的字了:)

I can consult the movie schedule on the Internet (非常重要，我很愛看電影！) and buy Taipei City garbage bags to throw out the garbage (我來台北的第一個禮拜試著去買，但買不成功-沒有人懂我到底要買什麼).

I can now take on responsibilities in my job that involve speaking Chinese. Successfully making a phone call or joining a meeting in Chinese makes me feel confident and happy. I have traveled across Taiwan, 交了很多朋友, and fallen in love.

I really like travelling around Taiwan so that I can see all the wonderful sightseeing places.

Anyways, I really love Taiwan and speaking Chinese. I have to go for the weekend, so I hope that next time I will be able to tell you more about my life and experiences here in Taiwan.

Learning Chinese has opened up many doors fo me: it has given me great pleasure, new relationships, and job opportunities.

Learning English can do the same for you! You have already started on this path, and it is our pleasure and our honor to walk with you and give you all the help and support we can.
