Riana來自南半球的澳洲,從澳洲飛到巴黎,從巴黎到俄羅斯,再由俄羅斯飛到香港,最後到了台灣!
G'day mates!
I am an Australian who went the long way in coming to Taiwan.
My name is Riana, and I'm from the most isolated city in the world: Perth (Western Australia). But I didn't fly straight to Taiwan!
I decided to first go to Sydney,
Paris,
Siberia (Russia)
and Hong Kong before touching down in this beautiful land of Taiwan.
"Why?" you might ask, and the simple reason is that I am probably crazy.
I had never been to Europe before, and I decided to explore these countries with my friend before I started work in Taiwan.
In fact, I didn't even know that I would be working in Taiwan! It was only when I was in Russia that I decided to come here.
And I do not regret my decision for one single second! I love the culture and the people here, and my experiences with the Virtual Class have been amazing.
As a virtual teacher, I am developing myself and gaining insights into Taiwanese people everyday.
I came on an AIESEC traineeship because I wanted to come and work in Taiwan because of two reasons.
Firstly, I wanted to get experience working in a different cultural environment. This is because my major at university was international business. Secondly, I wanted to learn Chinese! Back in Australia I have so many Chinese-speaking friends; I think that you would be surprised.
In my family I have a younger sister and a twin brother, who I miss. My twin and I are the best of friends - we like to hang out together with our other friends, but we don't look alike people so never think that we are related! It's very funny when they realise that he's my brother.

My life back in Australia was definitely different to here. I used to go swimming at the beach everyday in summer, and do lots of cooking with my friends.
Here, I don't cook because I don't have a kitchen, but I really enjoy going out and eating Taiwanese foods! They're so delicious, and it's an adventure finding new things to try.
I love that Taiwan is my new home; and I am always finding something new and interesting to share with my friends. I look forward to telling you more about my escapades in Taiwan!
