上週末,Riana到了熱情的南台灣 - 高雄,參與AIESEC一年一度的會員大會。來自世界各地的AIESEC學生,在這個活動中相互認識與交流。

As a member of AIESEC, I am often invited to go many places. Last weekend, AIESEC in Taiwan held their summer national conference in Kaohsiung . They asked me to join them for the weekend, because I have work during the rest of the week. The thing that I love most about AIESEC conferences is the energy! You gather up the young people from all across Taiwan and prepare for a most wonderful experience to happen.

People dance and talk in the beginning, reconnecting with people from many different places. At this conference there were international delegates from Canada , the U.S. , Singapore , Japan , Colombia , France , Italy , Russia and Australia . That’s 9 people from across the world… and only a small number out of all the people from all over Taiwan ! People came from the East, West, North and South of Taiwan to come to this truly inspiring conference.

During conference there are many different sessions. One of my favourites is presented by the External Relations team, and they discuss the issues that are happening in Taiwan and around the world. Once they talked about the “Duckweed Children”, children who are alone after school. Another time they discussed the discrimination against HIV babies, and how people want to ignore them. These are important issues that are happening here in Taiwan !

But not all the sessions are serious – after lunch we enjoyed the sight of a ‘Global Village’, a display of different countries that is open to the public. AIESEC members from each university looked after one country, and they would prepare games, food, information and many other things for people to look at!

The AIESEC Global Village:

The friends from 銘傳大學 held their stall on Australia , and had made up some fun photo boards with a koala on it. It was so cute! One stall had a water game, which was a very good idea considering how hot it is in Kaohsiung !

If you managed to complete 3 of the games from different stalls, then you would be able to get an ice-cream at the end… Yum!

At night there are more interesting games, and people are about to connect and discuss the day’s sessions. I think that many people enjoyed the Global Village the most, because you can walk around and find out many interesting things! Next time you’re at university, check out the AIESEC office – they’re cool people!
