Staying at a hotel!
Jessie, Julia and Riana have just arrived in Las Vagas, and are looking at different hotels that they can stay at.
One of the beautiful hotels in the advertisements:
Jessie: This tourist map has a lot of different hotels for us to choose from.
Julia: True, but all of them paid to advertise there. We may end up in some really expensive place!
Riana: My friend came here last summer, and she stayed at the Hotel D. It was a fair price, and she told me that the quality was ok.
Julia: I think we’d better go and check it out then. We don’t want to find out that it’s been booked solid!
Riana: What if we don’t like this hotel?
Jessie: There are other hotels in the area. We can always look around until we find something better.
Julia: Well let’s check out this Hotel D first.
Riana: I think that it should be pretty good if my friend stayed there.
Jessie: If it’s as good as your friend says it is then they mightn’t have any rooms left! C’mon…
The girls could see advertisements for different hotels

End up: to result in something, lead to a situation
Eg: I might end up having to do private tutoring if I fail another exam.
Booked solid: all the rooms have been booked, and there are no vacancies.
Eg: That hotel is always booked solid, sometimes for up to 6 months in advance!
Check out: to discover the facts about something or someone.
Eg: I think I’d better check out that new book that everyone has been recommending.
Important words:
Book
