When I was in grade 10, I moved from Kansas in the United States to London, Ontario, Canada. Not London England. We get more snow in London, Ontario.
It was hard moving in grade 10 because everyone had already started high school and made new friends, and I had to start all over again at a new school.
In one of my classes, there was a guy name Lee who listened to the same kind of music as I did. I asked him about the bands he liked and he told me that he was in a band.
I really wanted to make new friends, so I told him that I played the trumpet and asked if I could jam with them. He said I could and I ended up joining the band.
I really wasn't very good at the trumpet, but I went home and practiced so I could impress the band members and hopefully make new friends.
We ended up starting a ska band and we played concerts at the local clubs or at our school "Battle of the Bands". It was really exciting to play shows when we were only 15 or 16.
Our band had a fight in grade 11, and split into two bands. We lost our bass player and a saxophone player, but I stuck with my best friend Matt, the singer and guitar player, and his brother Trevor. We got a new bass player and continued to play shows.
We recorded 5 songs before our band broke up and made a small CD. It only cost us $500 Canadian to make. I found a link on the internet with one of our songs. When we wrote the song it was supposed to be a joke, but people liked it more than our other songs!
You can listen to our song at this link.

It's the only song where I sang and didn't play the trumpet.
We used to have a website and clothing, but it's all gone now and all I could find was this one song.
We were never a great band, but we were ok and we knew a lot of people, so we would attract bigger crowds than other local bands. The most famous band we ever played with was Sum 41. It was one of the worst shows ever. We also played with The Gadjits.
Anyways, that's some of the fun stuff I did in high school.
